Well, I was trying to sell my guild. Its like unranked, 80+ members, with hall and capes. Why, you ask? Because I want to make a new one called "Band Geeks [BAND]" (I seriously hope that name or tag isn't taken.) And I sorta want the money for a sigil. Anyway, I get a whole bunch of offers ranging from 100k to 200k. This one guy offers 200k, and joins my guild, and comes to guild hall to carry out the transaction.

Now, OK, if you havent already seen my other scam warning yesterday, here it is. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=47184. LOL. Dumb yeah? Anyway, I already sold another guild I had very successfully to another player, so I wasn't really afraid of scams. I planned for payment half now and half later. (I wouldn't have been too upset for 100k for that guild anyway, since that'd have been enough for a sigil, cape, and creation cost of a new guild).

Anyway, this genius buying my guild demands that he be made guild leader first. Like duh no. OK, even I have enough sense to not do that. I had been told by someone else that you can only carry 100k at a time (I wouldn't know, I don't even have 100k in storage). So, if this genius tried to tell me he had 200k on him ATM, I'd know hes a scammer.

So I asked him to show me the 200k. Heres what this wonderfully intellegent con artist said. Screenshots. Pretty weird, and pretty funny...

No real point here, just really interesting. Ah, and yet hes another of those people who think that stupid people deserve to be scammed. So he scammed some 50 people out of guilds. Pretty dirty if you ask me.

EDIT: BTW, guild is not for sale anymore. The guild member who spoke in the first screen indirectly convinced me to stay.

selling your guild like that
what about all the people that joined the guild?
a guild is just some sort of commodity you can buy and sell now??

Hmm, yeah, I should give leadership to a officer, however, IDK, I dont think I'll sell it now, especially after what one of the members said to me.

So this is your 2nd guild that you've made and put up for sale to start other ones?

Wow. Think harder before coming up with a name and tag. I bet you'll be selling Band Geeks before too long as well. If I was in a guild that sold his/her leadership to another random player, I'd /quit in a millisecond.

All I can say is, it disappoints me that a "leader" would sell his guild off. Why not promote an officer to leader? Such is an act of true leadership, not an eye for profit.

Yeah, the first one was REALLY bad. One of the officers was a person I knew in real life, and he was like basically cussing me out in guild chat everyday for making a mistake in GvG or HoH. He just insulted me too many times. And I wasn't about to kick that guy, since he could beat me up in real life. So I just sold it to a guild member for 30k.

EDIT, but if i did make band geeks, 100% I wouldn't sell it.

So let me get this straight, you start guilds, hire people, then sell those guilds off to people for 100-200k?

Yeah, it seems that way. It's pretty stupid. But then again, you really don't know what's going through the heads of a fair number of the Guild Wars population...

So, because one person could beat you up in real life, you decided to screw over 80+ people. Why even sell your guild? Why not just give it away to someone that might actually want to turn it into something great instead of pawning it because you're desperate for cash?

Either case, those people are better off than having you as a leader.
